Talent Skate Comp

Kyson and Kellen did their first skate comp! I am so proud of them, and extremely grateful to be their mom. Kellen went into it saying he was going to win, and he ended up taking the win. It was so cute seeing his confidence and bravery as he tried new tricks the week before to prepare.

I volunteered to document the event and I must say there were many moments when I couldn’t stop smiling because I was having such a great time. Photographing people who are living their best lives, pushing themselves and experiencing the moment bring me so much joy. There were some incredible talented skaters and there were some very new skaters, both were so inspiring. Skateboarding is one of those activities that you pay to play. Falling is just part of it and I don’t think people understand the pain they endure to accomplish what they do.
